How to add and manage products
Products are the individual items your customers rent. Add one with pricing, photos, and availability rules, then publish it to your storefronts.
Open the Products page
Products live under Inventory in your back office.
- In the left sidebar of io.partyrentalstudio.com, click Inventory, then Products.
- The Products page lists everything in your catalog. Use the search and category filters to find an existing item.
- Click Add New Product in the top right to open the Add Product form.
Fill in product information
The Product Information card holds the essentials customers see and the numbers that drive availability.
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Name | Required. The customer-facing product name. |
| Slug | Auto-generated from the name. Edit it to control the product's URL. |
| Category | Assign the product to one or more categories so it appears in the right place on your storefront. |
| SKU | Optional internal code for your own tracking. |
| Quantity | How many you own. This is the pool availability is checked against, so an item can't be double-booked. |
| Price | Required. The base rental price. Turn on tiered pricing if you charge different rates by quantity. |
Add a description and specifications
Below the basics you can describe the item and record physical details that help both your customers and your crew.
- Description: the main copy shown on the product page.
- Special note: a short highlight or disclaimer.
- Purchase Price: what the item cost you (internal only, for your own reporting).
- Supervision and Outlets: operational details, such as whether adult supervision or a power outlet is required.
- Actual Size and Setup Area: the item's dimensions and the space it needs, so customers can confirm it fits.
Tip: Setup Area is one of the most common pre-booking questions for inflatables and large items. Filling it in cuts down on back-and-forth emails.
Add photos and videos
Good photos are the single biggest driver of online bookings.
Product Images
- In the Product Images card, upload one or more photos. Accepted formats are JPG, PNG, GIF, and WEBP.
- The first image becomes the primary thumbnail. You can set a different primary image after uploading.
Product Videos
- Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link in the Product Videos card to show it on the product page.
- Use Video placement to choose whether the video appears above or below the description.
Note: A square (1:1) primary image looks most consistent across storefront grids.
Set availability and visibility
The Settings card controls how the product behaves. Each row is a simple on/off toggle unless noted.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Active | Master on/off. An inactive product is hidden everywhere. |
| Online ordering | Lets customers book this item themselves on your storefront. |
| Accepts coupon | Allows discount codes to apply to this item. |
| Featured product | Surfaces the item in the Featured section of your homepage. |
| Buffer period | Extra hours the item is held unavailable after it comes back, for cleaning or turnaround. |
Show on specific storefronts
If your account runs more than one storefront, a Visibility section appears with a checkbox for each storefront.
- Check the storefronts where the product should appear.
- Uncheck any storefront where it should be hidden.
Note: Products are visible on every storefront by default. This section only appears for accounts with two or more storefronts, and unchecking a storefront hides the product only there.
Save, then edit later
- Click Add in the sticky header at the top of the page.
- If the button is disabled, a required field or a quantity error needs fixing. Scroll up to the highlighted field and correct it.
- On success you'll get a confirmation and return to the Products list.
Note: To change a product later, open it from the Products list. The edit form is the same, the save button reads Update, and it adds a Show on website master switch plus a Delete option.
